I am very excited to write this blog today, because I have been working really hard to develop this new farmhouse collection and I can't wait to share it with you. I have wanted to photograph different animals on a farm for a while now, but every time I planned something it would fall through, that is why it has taken me so long to do this line.
About a month ago, I was doing some research and came across Lake County Farm Park website, and it clicked! I realized that was the perfect location for me to photograph my other farm animals. Lake County Farm Park is part of the Cleveland Metropark system, and it is an actual working farm used to educate the public about farming. So I decided it was time for me to go check it out.
I went to the farm park on an incredibly cold 24 degree day in January. It was cold, but it was good because there was hardly anyone there and I had all the animals to myself. It was perfect for my photography project. I spent a few hours hanging out with the different animals, and got some really great photos. It ended up being an incredible day for me to explore and learn more about how a proper farm functions, even when it is in the heart of the winter.
So after I got back to my studio, I edited the photos and started planning the products to put the images on. This is the hardest process for me, because naturally I want to put my images on everything, but not every product works. I finally narrowed it down to coasters, and metal mugs. I think I am going to print these out on canvas too and see how they look.
So I figured I would share some of the photos with you, and show you the end product. The products are live on the website now too! Which animal is your favorite?
